Definition of Cookies

A cookie is a small piece of data that a Website stores on a visitor's computer or mobile device. When using the Web Site, one or more cookies are sent to the User's device. Thanks to cookies, the Website remembers minimal amounts of information related to the User's actions and preferences (e.g. login, language, font size and other display settings) so that they do not have to be re-entered when returning to the site or navigating from one page to another. Cookies also make it possible to analyse the use of the services and content provided by the Website in order to optimise the User's browsing experience and the services offered.

Typologies of Cookies

The www.dinova.it website uses both session and persistent cookies, as well as first-party and third-party cookies:

  • First party cookies are cookies set by Web Sites that the User is visiting. Only those Web Sites can read them. In addition, a Web Site could potentially use an outside service to analyse how people use the site;
  • Third-party cookies are cookies set by other parties on the User, a visitor to the DINOVA Website;
  • Session cookies are cookies stored on the User's computer that are automatically deleted when the browser is closed;
  • Persistent cookies are cookies stored on the User's computer that are not automatically deleted when the browser is closed. Persistent cookies are used to re-identify the User the next time the User visits the Website.

Use of Pixels in E-mails

DINOVA's e-mails often contain a web beacon pixel unique to the campaign to check how many times the sent e-mails are opened and how many and which clicks are made on links or ads within the e-mail. This information is used for the following purposes:

  • determine which emails are the most interesting for users;
  • determine the activities and involvement of Users with the products and services offered;
  • inform advertisers (in aggregate) how many users clicked on their advertisements.

The pixel will be deleted when the User proceeds to delete the e-mail.

If you do not wish to have the pixel downloaded to your device, please select (manifest) that you wish to receive e-mails in plain text instead of HTML via your e-mail provider's settings.
